Hi! My name is Katie Shannon, a certified Let's Play Music, Sound Beginnings and Presto teacher located in La Porte, Indiana. I am married to my Land Surveyor husband, Stephen, and have four young children ages 8 and under.
While there are over 400 teachers nationwide, I am one of 4 Let's Play Music teachers in the state of Indiana! I am so honored to teach children through this program. I know that it is just as much a blessing in my life as it is in theirs!
When I first learned about Let's Play Music, it was truly an answered prayer for me. I had been running a private piano studio of over 30 students in their homes but knew I wouldn't be able to travel and teach all of these beautiful kids privately once our family grew! Let's Play Music allows me to impact so many more beautiful little lives than I ever would have been able to through private lessons...and LPM offers so much MORE!
My husband and I moved to La Porte in Spring 2016, where my studio started with 15 LPM students. It rapidly grew to over 100 students between the 3 programs! We outgrew my home, and I am blessed to rent over 800 square feet from Roxy Music in downtown La Porte. In 2022, my friend, Mrs. Meg Eddy, joined my studio to teach Sound Beginnings also!

Hello! My name is Meg Eddy and I am currently teaching Sound Beginnings, ages 0-4!
I am so excited to have joined Katie in her studio! I first learned about Let's Play Music through a friend and thought it might be a good fit for my children. The curriculum for these classes has blown my husband and I away! Our children are learning all kinds of music application and theory and loving it!
I was so excited when the opportunity opened for me to join this company!
Sound Beginnings teaches: literacy skills, gross and fine motor skills, rhythm, beats, vocal development, and pitch. It also gives your children the ability to listen to and decipher the moods of all kinds of music, from nursery rhymes to classical.
Most importantly it allows you to spend time bonding with your child, through music and movement!
